What the hell is the matter with you guys? You used be really good, now you seem to be sucking and your canned responses to be peoples problems with your "new" way of doing things is appalling. (I came to this site to see if there was a work-around, but now I see there is a basic incompatibility which I cannot get around - you are forcing me to choose.) That is why I cannot conceive of re-installing AVG. From my point-of-view, it was AVG that froze my computers and caused chaos, because both apps were working just fine until you did that. I particularly resent you pushing out an upgrade w hen you knew it would cause these problems, without giving any clear notice. I'd love to keep using both, but since I've had to choose, I'm keeping Malwarebytes and looking for an alternative to AVG.
Malwarebytes won t run update#
Only when I unintentionally let the AVG upgrade slip through the firewall a few weeks did this chaos ensue - the result of an application update I didn't want or request. The AVG definitions updated daily, virus scans went smoothly, and Malwarebytes worked well, as always. The ironic thing is that things worked fine as long as my firewall (I'm still using ZoneAlarm) kept the AVG update from loading successfully a few weeks ago. Then chaos until I uninstalled AVG, which solved the problem.

Then each computer started freezing completely, right after the AVG upgrade was pushed out (I neither wanted nor asked for it). I too have used AVG & Malwarebytes for years, very successfully & happily, on two desktops.
